Umarkhodjayev was born in 1986 and in 2008 graduated from Tashkent Chemical Technology Institute specializing in management. He began his career in 2007 as a engineer-controller at national airline company Uzbekistan Havo Yullari. From 2009 to 2018, he worked as head of the aviation security department of NAC. In 2018-2021, he was deputy head of the Capital Construction Directorate of Uzbekistan Railways JSC and technical director for the implementation of the Tashkent-Vostochny Airport Project. In 2021-2023, he was the first deputy chairman of the Board of Operations of Uzbekistan Airports JSC. In August 2023 Umarkhodjayev was appointed as acting chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airports JSC and by decision of the general shareholders meeting of Uzbekistan Airports JSC, he was appointed to the position of chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airports JSC in 2024.
