Dolores Gracja Piwek
deputy director,
Institute of Civil Aviation Management
PhD Dolores Gracja PIWEK - associate Professor at the Institute of Civil Aviation Management (IZLC), Faculty of Management and Command, War Studies University, serving as Deputy Director of the Institute.
Graduate of the National Defence Academy of Poland (Bachelor’s degree) and War Studies University (Master’s and PhD degrees), specialising in Air Traffic Management and Aviation Safety Management. She was also a student at the National University of Public Service in Budapest, including postgraduate studies at the 86th Air Base in Szolnok, Hungary.
In 2021–2022, she served as an Aviation Safety Specialist at the Civil Aviation Authority of Poland.
Since 2022–2023, she has additionally served as the Dean’s Representative for the Promotion of the Faculty of Management and Command’s educational programmes, Ambassador for the Aviation programme, and Editor of the Faculty’s Facebook page.
Ms. Piwek has participated in numerous international academic placements and has served as a guest lecturer at foreign universities, including the Bulgarian Air Force Academy in Dolna Mitropolia.
She has coordinated and participated in numerous research teams, including a research team from the War Studies University that, commissioned by the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA), conducted an external review of the organisation’s safety culture.
Ms. Piwek is the author of numerous interviews and expert contributions on aviation safety and related issues, as well as a trainer specialising in Safety Management Systems (SMS) in civil aviation.
She is also a stakeholder in EUROCONTROL’s U-space cooperation network, contributing to the exchange of knowledge and expertise on the development and implementation of U-space and advanced air mobility solutions.
