Carlos Cortijo is the head of aviation in Asia Pacific at Egis. He brings more than 30 years of international experience in airport planning, design and construction, having worked directly for airport authorities as a client representative and as a consultant. Throughout his career, Cortijo has led major airport developments as project director, design lead and project manager across a wide range of geographies, including the United States, Spain, Oman, Indonesia, Singapore, India, the Maldives, Cambodia, the Philippines, the Solomon Islands and Hong Kong. His diverse background provides a unique perspective from both the client and consultant sides of the industry. Cortijo has successfully led multidisciplinary architecture and engineering teams and managed complex stakeholder environments to deliver airport projects of varying scale and complexity. His expertise spans the entire project lifecycle, from airport masterplanning and concept development through detailed design and construction. Key areas of experience include phasing and sequencing strategies, design coordination, cost and estimate reviews, risk assessment, value engineering and project delivery optimization. In addition, Cortijo has extensive hands-on construction and site management experience, including design administration and construction oversight. He has a proven track record of partnering closely with clients to ensure the successful, timely and operationally effective delivery and handover of airport infrastructure projects.
