Dar, a Sidara company
Balsam Nehme is group executive director for sustainability and implementation at Sidara and partner in charge of sustainability at Dar, where she plays an influential role in advancing high-performance, sustainable design across buildings, infrastructure and cities. With more than 20 years of experience in sustainability, Nehme has led some of Dar’s most sophisticated sustainability initiatives, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to translate ambitious sustainability objectives into practical, high-impact solutions. Her expertise spans net zero and decarbonization, whole-life and embodied carbon, climate resilience, circular economy, energy transition, integrated design, health and well-being, and green building certifications. She provides strategic thought leadership on the sustainability impacts of major infrastructure and development projects, with expertise in the future of sustainable and resilient aviation, electrified mobility, and the delivery of low-carbon and climate-resilient infrastructure. Nehme advises clients on developing and implementing ambitious carbon reduction pathways and broader sustainability strategies, while facilitating integrated design processes that bring together sustainability, engineering, architecture and operations to achieve measurable performance outcomes. Her work focuses on bridging the gap between sustainability ambition and implementation, helping clients move from strategy and targets to solutions that can be effectively delivered at scale. In her role as group executive director for sustainability and implementation at Sidara, Nehme is helping shape and drive the group’s sustainability agenda across its global portfolio of companies and projects. She also represents Sidara and Dar on international platforms and conferences, including COP and Greenbuild among others, contributing thought leadership on the future of sustainable infrastructure and strengthening the group’s position as a leader in sustainability and implementation.
