Andrew Perez
Managing Partner,
Grimshaw Melbourne Studio
Andrew Perez is the Managing Partner at Grimshaw’s Melbourne studio, shaping the practice’s national direction and project delivery. With over twenty-five years of international experience across Australia, the UK, Europe, the Middle East and South America, Andrew brings a strategic design intelligence to complex infrastructure projects, particularly in the aviation, transport, cultural and botanical sectors.
A specialist in large-scale airport planning and design, Andrew has led master planning efforts for London Heathrow, including three strategic frameworks and the development of Terminal Two Concourse B, as well as playing a pivotal role in transformation initiatives at Melbourne Airport. His authorship of the airport’s overarching Design Vision, together with the delivery of projects such as the Elevated Road and Forecourt and the Terminal 2 Arrivals Hall Redevelopment, reflects his ability to align design excellence with operational performance.
His international portfolio includes the Auckland Airport Terminal Development Plan, Istanbul’s six-runway airport configuration study, the Jorge Chávez International Airport expansion in Lima, and the JFK Airport Master Plan Design Vision. Equally at home in civic and environmental domains, Andrew led the design of the Oman Botanic Garden, a project of national significance, and oversaw the delivery of landmark academic buildings for University College London. Andrew has also developed guidance standards for the conceptual design of airport facilities.
He currently serves as a Trustee of the Grimshaw Foundation, supporting initiatives that advance social and environmental outcomes through architecture and design.
