Alexander Chua

Alexander is the Head of Security Management Systems (SeMS) Development & Delivery within IATA's Operations, Safety & Security (Aviation Security) Team where he oversees the development and execution of IATA's SeMS strategy and programs, liaising with both governmental regulatory agencies, and aviation industry entities on promoting the recognition and adoption of SeMS. He also served as IATA Regional Security Manager (Asia-Pacific) from 2023-2024.
Before joining IATA in 2023, Alexander held the positions within Delta Air Lines as Manager (Security Compliance) from 2021-2023 and as Corporate Regional Security Manager (Asia-Pacific & Canada) from 2011 to 2021 where he oversaw the security operations for 28 international stations.
Alexander began his career in aviation as a Security Executive (Systems & Intel) for Singapore Airlines from 2006-2011.
Alexander holds a BA (Honors) Degree in Political Science from the University of British Columbia, BC, Canada and an MA Degree in Intelligence & International Security from King's College, London.
Alexander possesses certifications as an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Aviation Security Professional Manager (AVSEC PM) and as an IATA Instructor.
