Henry Poh on Leading Complex Capital Projects in Live Airport Environments

Henry Poh on Leading Complex Capital Projects in Live Airport Environments
Senior Technical Director | daa international

Delivering major airport infrastructure while daily operations continue requires more than conventional project control. It calls for leadership across safety, programme, cost, stakeholder needs and long-term value. Henry Poh shares how influence and collaboration can help teams deliver complex capital programmes without losing sight of the airport’s wider legacy.

How are you currently contributing to major airport development?

I am supporting Riyadh Airport Company in the delivery of one of the largest airport developments in Saudi Arabia, all within a live operational environment. Drawing on my previous work with airports in the United Kingdom, I bring experience and innovation across both aerodrome and terminal design.

What led you to join the Passenger Terminal Expo Asia as a conference speaker?

I wanted to share my knowledge and experience with peers across the aviation industry. Collaboration and the exchange of lessons learned are essential if we are to support safe airport operations and continuously improve the way major projects are delivered.

What is the main leadership challenge your session will examine?

My session focuses on leading complex capital delivery in live airport environments. Success requires a move away from relying solely on traditional control-based management and towards leadership through influence. Safety, cost, programme, operational continuity and long-term value must all be balanced within a highly complex stakeholder environment.

Why is this perspective increasingly important for the industry?

The industry is no longer concerned only with constructing airports. It must create sustainable infrastructure that leaves a positive legacy and delivers lasting value for future generations. That requires leaders to consider how today’s project decisions will affect operations, communities and airport performance well beyond the construction period.

What are you looking forward to most at the event?

I am looking forward to meeting industry peers and exchanging practical knowledge, experience and ideas.

Hear Henry Poh discuss leadership, stakeholder influence and the delivery of complex infrastructure in live airport environments at Passenger Terminal Expo Asia.
